Meet the Team

Paul Tuffy, Managing Director

Paul began his accounting career with Silver Screen Partners/Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex in New York City. In the years leading up to the establishment of Tuffy & Associates, he worked at the Livingston, N.J., firm of McEnerney, Brady & Company, in the areas of corporate and individual taxation. He also served as an assistant vice president at Merrill Lynch & Company, specializing in partnership accounting and private equity funds.

Paul is an enrolled agent with the Internal Revenue Service, which demonstrates significant tax knowledge to represent his clients. Enrolled agents are granted unrestricted rights to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and demonstrate special competence in tax matters, adhere to ethical standards, and are required to stay current with tax law and regulation by completing a minimum of continuing education annually. He also holds Financial Securities Licenses in Series 7, 63 and 65.

Paul is a current member of the New York State Society of Independent Accountants and a member of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners.

Rose Sullivan, Accounting Controller

Rose, who has roots in Counties Donegal and Offaly, joined the firm in 2020. She attended St. Margaret of Cortona School in Riverdale and graduated from Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel in 2014.

She then attended West Virginia University and went on to major in Business Administration at SUNY WCC. Her prior experience in the hospitality industry brought her to Tuffy & Associates, where her personality and attention to detail made her a perfect fit. She is currently in the process of becoming an enrolled agent with the Internal Revenue Service.

Eraldo Gjoni, Staff Accountant

Eraldo holds a master’s degree in finance (2012) and has built a strong career in accounting and bookkeeping.

After relocating from Albania in 2020, he worked as a bookkeeper for a construction company, where he managed daily financial operations and supported its project-based accounting division. Since 2023, he has been working in a tax office preparing individual and corporate tax returns, further strengthening his expertise. He is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to delivering accurate, reliable financial support to every organization he serves. Eraldo is a passionate chess teacher and loves Italian music.

Jo Ann Healy, Staff Accountant

Jo Ann grew up in the Bronx and graduated from the Academy of Mount Saint Ursula, later receiving her graduate and MBA degrees from Manhattan University. 

Her father hailed from Moyvane, County Kerry and her mother was born in New York City to parents from Mayo.

Jo Ann has over 25 years of experience working for some of the Big 4 accounting firms. As an Enrolled Agent, she has a particular expertise in foreign national and expatriate taxation, having gained extensive experience working with high net-worth clients when she worked for both Deloitte Tax LLP and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLP.

She understands payroll issues and loves researching complicated tax matters referencing the U.S. tax code as well as utilizing income tax treaties. In the past, she has counseled clients, including expats and international business travelers, on the external matters that could affect their pensions and other streams of income, as well as hypothetical tax calculations.

In her spare time, she loves watching old black and white movies, playing trivia and you can even find her dancing at a céilí or listening to a session at the local Irish pubs.
